The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology of Southeastern Wisconsin (APIC-SEW) was formed in 1972 by the Hospital Infection Control Officers in the Greater Milwaukee Area.  Thru the years, the chapter has grown to encompass all of Southeastern Wisconsin.  Members are from hospitals, extended care facilities and public health.  The chapter has over 100 members. Its purpose is to influence, support and improve the quality and safety of healthcare through the practice and management of infection control and the application of epidemiology in all health settings.

lawyer association publishes checklist

for pan-flu preparedness

The American Health Lawyers Association has released a checklist legal issues tied to pandemic flu preparation.  The checklist, Community Pan-Flu Preparedness: A Checklist of Key Legal Issues for Healthcare Providers, was co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and is intended to address legal impediments, gaps, and implementation challenges in the event of a pandemic.
